Central Mountain defeats Williamsport 3-1 in baseball action
A four-run fourth inning helped propel Central Mountain to a 3-1 win in baseball against Williamsport. The Millionaires’ lone run came in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut the deficit to two runs.
Austin Frank earned the win on the mound for the Wildcats. He threw 5 2/3 innings with five strikeouts, four hits allowed and gave up no runs. Trey Damschroder took the loss for Williamsport with 4 1/3 innings of work. He gave up three runs on three hits, but had five strikeouts and three walks.
Brady Lavelle relieved Frank for 1 1/3 innings of work with three strikeouts to earn the save. Central Mountain’s two pitchers combined to give up just six hits total, all of which were singles.
Watt Probst went 1 for 3 with a double while Malaky Moyd was 1 for 2 with a triple, two RBIs, a walk and a run scored for the Wildcats. Jase Seltzer (1 for 3) and Blake Walker (1 for 2, run) all collected singles for the Wildcats. Williamsport was led by Cole Dietrich, who went 3 for 4 with an RBI. The only other Millionaire with a hit was Camden March (1 for 4).
Moyd’s triple in the fourth ining drove in two runs to give Central Mountain a 2-0 lead before Nate Wian grounded out for another run and a 3-0 Wildcat advantage.
