Lock Haven women’s hoops opens PSAC East play with close loss to Kutztown

LOCK HAVEN – Despite a furious fourth-quarter charge to get within one late, the Lock Haven women’s basketball team was edged out 68-66 by visiting Kutztown University on Friday evening in its PSAC Eastern Division opener.

Trailing by 14 at 63-49 with 4:17 left in the game, Lock Haven embarked on a 13-0 run and cut the Kutztown advantage to just one-point at 63-62 with 23 seconds left in the contest. Evans finished with a monster double-double as a 12-rebound effort backed up her 17 points. Rhlyn Rouse grabbed 11 rebounds. Jordan added six rebounds and three assists, while Baughman recorded three steals.
