Plethora of BEA, Bellefonte athletes named to Laurel Highlands all-league team for fall
Last week, the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference announced its all-league teams for fall sports. 35 collective athletes from Bald Eagle and Bellefonte earned all-league honors, one which did it twice in Bellefonte’s Andy Gerasenko.
FOOTBALL
Of those 35 athletes, 13 came from football. Bald Eagle landed seven (three first-team, two second-team, two honorable mention), with quarterback Carson Nagle, LB Wyatt Spackman and punter Grady Frisher headling that group as first-team selections. Defensive tackle Gage Gardner and defensive end Braydon Dubbs landed on second team and tight end Wyatt Spackman and defensive back Kolin Cunningham being name honorable mentions.
For Bellefonte, six Red Raiders landed on the team. Logan Rarrick earned first-team honors as a defensive tackle while also being named an honorable mention at offensive tackle. Kicker Gerasenko, wide receiver Ashten Howell, defensive back Aden Howell and linebacker Noah Weaver rounded out that group as honorable mentions.
SOCCER
For girls, eight players from Bald Eagle and Bellefonte landed on the team. Bald Eagle forward Sybil Thompson and Bellefonte defender Althea Helms headlined that group as first-team selections, with BEA defenders Lily Spicer and Sydney Thompson and Bellefonte’s Sydney Miller earning second-team honors. Bellefonte’s Maddy Fallon and Addie Pringle finished as honorable mentions, along with BEA goalkeeper Makayla Springer.
For boys, Bellefonte’s Andy Gerasenko (forward), Tate Tooker (defender) and Elijah Davis (goalkeeper) and Bald Eagle’s Kaiden Gates (defender) all earned first-team honores, with Bellefonte’s John Servant being named an honorable mention.
VOLLEYBALL
Bald Eagle saw three members of its 2024-25 team in hitter Leah Bryan, hitter Gabbie Perry and setter Taylor Habovick earn first-team honors, with libero Olivia Taylor landing on second team. For Bellefonte, Keira Clarkson was named an honorable mention.
CROSS COUNTRY
Four members of Bellefonte’s cross country team (three boys, one girl) were named an all-star in Kaiden Williams (first), Maverick Muchmore (first), Jonathan Gasper (second) and Addison Fry (second).
GOLF
In golf, Bald Eagle’s Braylyn Umbenhouer made the second team.
