Bald Eagles have tough road contest

Lock Haven picked up a much needed win last week by defeating Millersville with late-game heroics to move to .500. The win helped Lock Haven as the Bald Eagles head into a rough stretch of their schedule.

Lock Haven travels to three-win Shephard this week before heading to undefeated Kutztown the following week.

In the Bald Eagles’ 24-23 win against Millersville, Jackson Ostrowsky threw for 222 yards on 17 for 34 passing and had two touchdown strikes. Ostrowsky has been a huge weapon for Lock Haven. Through four games, he’s already eclipsed 1,000 passing yards as the Bald Eagle has 1,053 and has eight touchdown passes with a 131.74 passer rating and a 52.59 completition percentage.

The Bald Eagles’ running game struggled to get going last week. Ostrowsky ran for 52 yards and KJ Howard ran for 37.

The Rams beat Shippensburg last week, 38-0, and were led by Lek Powell’s 184 passing yards and two touchdowns and Malakai Brown’s 82 rushing yards, as he averaged 10.3 per carry.

Shephard’s defense has played well all season.The Rams have allowed just nine points in its three wins, shutting out Southern Connecticut State (23-0) and Shippensburg (38-0) and limiting Clarion to nine points in a 27-9 win.

No. 10 Slippery Rock is the only team to eclipse 10 points on Shephard, scoring 20.
