Carole Leonard Reeser
Carole Leonard Reeser passed away on Jan. 19, 2025, at The Legacy in Staunton, Va., after a lengthy struggle with ALS.
She was born in Renovo, Pa., on Aug. 19, 1942, to Charles and Marie Bartholomew Leonard.
After graduating from Renovo High School in 1960, she attended Lock Haven University, graduating in 1964 with an Early Childhood degree in Education. Her 33 years of teaching included Selinsgrove, Williamsport and Keystone Central school districts. She retired in 2001.
On June 19,1965, in Renovo, she married her husband of 50 years, James Reeser.
Carole’s interests were reading, quilting, gardening, antiquing and traveling.
She had been an active member of Friends of the Library, Millbrook Playhouse, The Book Club, Covenant Quilters and the former Lock Haven Garden Club. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lock Haven.
Carole is survived by two sons Brian and Rhonda Reeser, and son Steve and Becky Reeser; grandchildren, Madi, Ally and Brandon Reeser, all of Verona, Va.; a brother, James (Donna) Leonard, of Wellsville, N.Y.; a niece, Wendy Leonard Young; a sister-in-law, Pat (Harold) Steidler, of York, Pa., two nephews, Shawn and Justin Steidler; and a brother-in-law, Charles (Vicki) Reeser, of Kingsport, Tenn.
A funeral service for Carole will be held on Feb. 1, at 1 p.m., at Covenant United Methodist Church in Lock Haven.
