DUI
LOCK HAVEN — On March 22, at 2:32 a.m., state police at Lamar stopped a driver on the 100 Block of East Water Street, Lock Haven, for traffic violations.
The driver, a 33-year-old, of Lock Haven, was operating a 2009 gray Chevrolet Equinox, police said.
During the investigation, it was determined the operator was under the influence of alcoholic beverages, police said.
Police advised that chemical testing was consented.
Criminal charges are pending lab results.
DUI of drugs
FLEMINGTON — On March 10, at 1:35 p.m., state police at Lamar investigated a DUI incident on Hogan Boulevard in Bald Eagle Township.
Charges will be filed pending the results of a toxicology report.
Vehicle fire
LOCK HAVEN — An individual in Crist Trailer Court was working on a 2004 Saturn Ion he recently purchased when he accidentally caused a fire to ignite, according to Woodward Township police.
Police said the vehicle was pushed away from adjacent trailers into Lilac Lane to prevent fire spreading; the vehicle was a total loss.
Police said the Dunnstown Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire; Martin Motors towed the burned vehicle away.
Pedestrian injured
HOWARD — On April 7, around noon, Barbara A. Soroka, 71, of Howard, was slowing to park at the Howard Borough Post Office when the mud mat of her 2017 Kia Soul became lodged between the brake and gas pedals, causing the vehicle to accelerate and Soroka to lose control, according to state police at Rockview.
The Kia traveled off Black Street and into Howard Borough Park, where it struck a black metal fence. The fence dislodged and hit a 72-year-old pedestrian on the sidewalk, who was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for a laceration on her arm, police said.
The car continued across Walnut Street before coming to a final rest in a private driveway. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the front plastic grille, police said.
ChildLine Report investigation
CENTRE HALL — On April 4, state police investigated a ChildLine Report involving a 13-year-old girl in the borough of Centre Hall, according to state police at Rockview.
$1,800 stolen
in scam
YARNELL — On April 5, a 40-year-old Bellefonte man reported to police he purchased $1,800 worth of ATV parts from a Facebook company called Gabriel’s ATV and UTV Salvage, allegedly located in New Jersey, according to state police at Rockview.
An investigation revealed the provided address does not exist and the transaction was a scam, police said.
Stop sign crash
HOWARD — On March 31, Darren Hauser, 52, of Howard, pulled out without clearance from a stop sign at Howard Divide and South Eagle Valley Road, according to state police at Rockview.
A 2025 Ram operated by Colton W. Confer, 37, of Jersey Shore, continued straight and struck a guide rail, causing disabling damage, police said.
Hauser was charged with failure to fulfill duties at stop signs.
Icy bridge accident
BELLEFONTE — A sudden snow squall caused a bridge on Interstate 99 to become icy on April 8, leading to a crash, state police at Rockview said.
Steven T. Miller, 59, of Hesston, lost control of his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and struck the concrete bridge rails on both sides of the road, according to police.
Child endangerment
BELLEFONTE — State police investigated a ChildLine Report concerning the endangerment of a 10-year-old boy from Tyrone. The incident occurred in Benner Township between Jan. 29, 2024, and April 10, 2025, according to state police at Rockview.

CENTRE HALL — State police are investigating a ChildLine Report involving the alleged indecent assault of a 13-year-old boy from Manchester, Pa. The incident reportedly took place on in Potter Township between Sept. 26, 2008, and Sept. 26, 2009, according to state police at Rockview.

BELLEFONTE — State police are investigating a ChildLine Report regarding the alleged indecent assault of a 17-year-old girl from Bellefonte. The incident occurred in Benner Township on Nov. 4, 2024, according to state police at Rockview.
Harassment
BELLEFONTE — State police investigated a ChildLine Report related to an incident on Dec. 26, 2024, in which an individual was harassed with physical contact in Benner Township, according to state police at Rockview.
