False imprisonment

MILL HALL — On Dec. 5, state police arrested Brandon Bitner, 41, of Mill Hall, following their response to an address along Eagle Valley Road in Bald Eagle Township.

Once police arrived on scene, troopers learned the victim, a 40-year-old female of Mill Hall, was being held against her will inside the home. The victim was safely removed from the home and taken to a safe location.

Bitner is being charged with false imprisonment and harassment by District Judge Heidi Wright’s office.

Aggravated assault of officer

LOCK HAVEN — A 60-year-old man of Corith, Texas, was taken into custody and faces multiple charges following an incident in the area of South Hanna Street on Dec. 6, Lock Haven City Police said.

Officers received a tip on the location of Richard Laird, who was wanted out of Texas for failure to comply with registering as a sex offender, police said.

Laird was located in the area of South Hanna Street and, while being taken into custody, got into a physical altercation with officers with Laird attempting to disarm one of the officers and injuring them, police said.

Laird was tased and successfully taken into custody, police said.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, disarming a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, police said.

Two vehicle crash

LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven City Police responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Commerce Street and Bellefonte Avenue earlier this month.

On Dec. 13 at about 4 p.m., two vehicles — no descriptions given — were involved in the crash when one vehicle, while attempting to turn left onto Commerce Street, struck the second vehicle, police said.

The first vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.

Simple assault

LOCK HAVEN — Samuel Collins, 24, of Lock Haven, was arrested for simple assault after an incident along Williamson Heights, Lock Haven City Police said.

According to police, on Dec. 9 at about 3 p.m., Collins allegedly punched a victim in the face and threw her to the ground at a residence, police said.

Burglary

FLEMINGTON — On Dec. 3, 2024, state police at Lamar responded to an address along Woods Avenue in Flemington Borough for a suspected burglary.

Known actors parked on the street, walked on the property and moved a full plastic tote in front of the shed door, according to police.

The actors proceeded to open the unlocked shed door and removed a battery pack jump start from the shed and walked away with it, police said.

The individual was located, identified and charges of residential burglary without force were filed through District Judge Keith Kibler’s office.

Theft of gravel rake

RENOVO — On Dec. 3, state police at Lamar responded to a reported theft from a building located at Tamarack Road/Stewart Hill Road in Leidy Township, Clinton County.

According to police, a rusty pull behind gravel rake valued at $1,000 was stolen from the Leidy Township Dump site in Renovo.

DUI charge

LOGANTON — On Dec. 9, state police at Lamar arrested a 40-year-old female for driving under the influence of alcohol following a stop on Logan Mills Road in Logan Township, Clinton County.

The woman, of Williamsport, was operating a 2010 Nissan Sentra at the time of the incident.

DUI charges were filed with District Judge Heidi Wright’s office.

Burglary

LOGANTON — Edward Miller, 52, of Loganton, reported to state police at Lamar that on Dec. 3 at approximately 2 a.m., someone entered the Twilight Diner, 603 N. Mill St., in Greene Township, by breaking a window.

Once inside, the unknown suspect utilized a grinder to open a safe containing money, police said. They then fled the area in a white or light colored vehicle, possibly a Chrysler/Dodge product.

According to police, the suspect was wearing a white Tyvek style suit.

Approximately $3,800 in unknown denominations was reported missing, police said.

Man jailed

MILL HALL — Clint Dorman, 40, of Mill Hall, was arrested by state police at Lamar on Dec. 6 following an incident in the Lowe’s parking lot, 284 Hogan Blvd., Bald Eagle Township, when police were dispatched to investigate a child endangerment report.

It is alleged that Dorman punched and slapped an 8-year-old boy while the child was seated in a 2011 Ford Focus in the Lowe’s parking lot, police said.

Dried blood was observed on the child’s face and a bump was evident on the child’s head, police said.

Charges were prepared for the related offenses and Dorman was taken into custody and jailed to await a preliminary hearing, police said.

Drug charges

LOCK HAVEN — Stephen Jawork, 52, of Philadelphia, was arrested by state police at Lamar for drug possession following an incident on Nov. 29 at 31 Mountainview Drive in Woodward Township, Lock Haven.

Jawork was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being observed in a 2004 Lexus GX 460 huffing an electronic duster and having in his possession marijuana, police said.

Cat stolen

CASTANEA — On Nov. 30, at approximately 6:41 p.m., state police at Lamar responded to 352 Grape St., Castanea Township, for the report of a theft.

The victim stated that she observed the suspect, a 64-year-old Lock Haven female, take a calico cat named Reese from her residence through her ring doorbell camera, police said.

The suspect then drove away.

The suspect was later identified and stated the cat, valued at $500, had escaped her residence and she was unable to find it, police said.

Charges of theft were filed through District Judge Keith Kibler’s office.

The cat has not been located at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Hall of PSP Lamar barracks and reference incident PA-2024-1555424.

Criminal mischief

MILL HALL — On Nov. 30, state police at Lamar responded to a home on Locust Street in Porter Township to investigate a report of criminal mischief.

The victim, a 34-year-old female, of Lamar, had a significant amount of dog feces thrown on her front porch by a 60-year-old male, of Lamar, police said.

Charges were issued through District Judge Heidi Wright’s office.

One vehicle crash

LOGANTON — Slippery road conditions caused a one vehicle crash on Nov. 28 at 4:43 a.m. at mile marker 188.3 of Interstate 80 in Greene Township, Clinton County, according to state police at Lamar.

The driver, Gammanage Perera, 31, of State College, was operating a 2019 Toyota Corolla in the left lane of the highway when she lost control due to slippery road conditions, police said.

The vehicle spun clockwise, striking the guide rail before coming to a final rest, police said.

Perera and her passengers, Ranaweera Madhusha, 30; Jothiraihna Ganithage, 28; and Thilini Pulahinge, 29, all of State College, were wearing their seat belts and were not injured in the accident, police said.
