Miller announces run for District VII on KC board

JOHN MILLER
LOCK HAVEN — John Miller, of Lock Haven, has announced he is running in the Primary Election for the District VII seat on the Keystone Central School District Board of Directors.
The seat, currently held by Roger Elling, is comprised of Lock Haven’s 4th and 5th Wards.
Miller has cross-filed for the Primary to be held on May 20.
“I am a very open-minded, honest, ethical person who will fight to bring a new beginning not only to the district but the entire community. As a registered Republican, I am proud to appear on both the Republican and Democratic ballots in the upcoming election on May 20. This decision reflects my firm belief that partisan politics has no place in our schools,” Miller said in his announcement. “The school board must serve as a dedicated body focused on the welfare of our students and community, free from political agendas.”
Miller’s announcement states his campaign is based on addressing critical concerns such as fiscal responsibility — particularly the use of tax increases; low test scores and transparency to the community.
“Together, we can build a safer, more effective and empowering learning environment for students and teachers, all while lowering taxes for our community,” Miller said.
