Police reunite LH mother with her children
LOCK HAVEN — Nearly three days later, two children have been returned to their mother after being found in Virginia with their father.
Sean Michael Hendershot, Jr. is charged with interference with the custody of children and concealment of whereabouts of a child, both felonies, after he failed to return the children to their mother on April 5.
Lock Haven City Police received a report from the children’s mother on April 6 that Hendershot did not bring the children back to her following a dinner on April 5. The mother has full physical custody of the children, according to police.
The mother told police Hendershot had also turned off all forms of communication.
“The children were entered into the National Crime Information Center as missing. Hendershot and his vehicle were also entered into NCIC,” according to a release.
Hendershot’s phone was also pinged without success.
On April 7, city police issued a missing and endangered person advisory through the Pennsylvania State Police and obtained an arrest warrant for Hendershot. Social media posts made by LHPD immediately spread through the community at the time.
Hendershot’s license plate was later read near Franklin, Va., at about 4:40 p.m. the same day, police said.
Hendershot and the children were located and he was taken into custody by the Franklin Police Department, police said. Both children were transported back to the commonwealth by family.
On Friday, Hendershot waived extradition and is being transported back to Clinton County for a formal arraignment on both charges, police said.
Lock Haven Police did not provide any further information regarding the incident.
