McELHATTAN — The Clinton County Correctional Facility has a new deputy warden of support services.
The facility’s board appointed Sean Ruch to the position on Friday afternoon during a special meeting. Ruch was already serving as deputy warden temporarily since June.
Ruch replaces former Deputy Warden Jason Kormanic who left the position to become warden at a prison in Mifflin County.
“Sean is going to be an incredible asset to the Clinton County Correctional Facility and our leadership team,” Warden Angela Hoover said. “He has demonstrated he has the knowledge and skills to excel in this role. I am excited to work with him and see him continue to enhance our overall operations.”

As deputy warden of support services, Ruch will supervise and monitor all support services operations at the facility. That includes treatment, food, medical, mental health, special management units and detainee receiving and discharging services.
According to Hoover, Ruch has 20 years of experience in the correctional field and is a veteran who served six years in the military.
Ruch was a detention sergeant at the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in Florida before returning to Pennsylvania where he worked as a lieutenant at the Mashannon Valley Correctional Facility. he was later promoted to captain.
According to Hoover throughout his career he served as a member of CERT and CISM, a PREA investigator and was a certified Discipline Hearing Officer through the Bureau of Prisons.
Ruch is currently a Certified Corrections Supervisor through the American Correctional Association.
