Schlesinger Communications announces Fire Float; event to benefit LHFD on Aug. 17

LOCK HAVEN — Schlesinger Communications, Inc. (operating radio stations 92.1 WSQV/106.9 WVSQ “The Valley’s Best Rock,” 96.9/AM 1230 Classic Hits WBPZ, 106.5/AM 970 Classic Hits WBLF and 105.9 QWiK Rock “Lion Country’s Rock Station”) is proud to announce the “First Annual Fire Float” to benefit the Lock Haven Fire Departments.

The “Fire Float,” which will be held Aug. 17 in the scenic Susquehanna River, begins at Peddie Park and ends at the Lock Haven City Beach. Parking is available at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven, with shuttle service to Peddie Park provided by Susquehanna Transit.

For a $10 Donation, “Floaters” can float for a great cause.

Water Safety will be provided by Lock Haven Fire Department and Pa. Fish and Boat Commission.

Vesper Street will be closed from Water Street to the levee for vendors, food trucks and stands. Anyone interested in a space should contact Schlesinger Communications, Inc. at 570-748-4038, email info@wsqvradio.com or in person at 21 E. Main St., Lock Haven.

“We’d like to create a festive atmosphere for Floaters and spectators,” said a release from Schlesinger Communications.

Floaters will be able to enter the river from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors will be open until around 5 p.m.
