Fishing Creek Streamside Cleanup May 3

PHOTO PROVIDED
In honor of our Nation’s upcoming 250th birthday, CleanScapes volunteers are committed to cleaning up Clinton County. Their April 12 event removed 118 bags (1,460 lbs.) of litter from five roadside miles along Route 150. CleanScapes PA Pick It Up Days second event will remove litter from Fishing Creek streambanks in Mill Hall Borough on Saturday, May 3, from 8:30-11 a.m. The area is short in length, and the total volume of litter is moderate but the terrain can be challenging. Volunteers will work on vegetated streamside slopes collecting litter. Registration is requested by noon Friday, May 2. Cleanup supplies, litter grabbers and light refreshments are provided. To register contact CleanScapes Project Director Elisabeth Lynch at clintoncountycleanscapes@yahoo.com or leave a voice message at 570-726-3511. Coming soon, on May 10, is Lamar Township’s free residential spring cleanup collection event sponsored by CleanScapes donors, Clinton County and Lamar governments and the Wayne Township Landfill.
