HELP for Pets holds annual membership meeting; elects officers
LOCK HAVEN — HELP for Pets (Hardship Emergency Loan Program) held their Annual Membership/Board of Directors Meeting, Feb. 6, in the Annie Halenbake Ross Library, Lock Haven.
A review of 2024 was given by President Pam Blesh. The group had a very successful year, helping another 13 pet families save their beloved pets.
The organization joined the Clinton County Economic Partnership in November and the Commonwealth University-Lock Haven’s Pottery Class again generously donated a portion of their proceeds from their annual sale to HELP for Pets. It is proudly noted that HELP for Pets is fully funded by donations and loan repayments, 97 percent of which went towards loans in 2024.
Election of Officers were held and the 2025 officers are: Pamela Blesh, president; Rona Houser, vice president; Deborah Tarantella, secretary; Christina Frank, treasurer; Heather Corbin, assistant treasurer; Christina Frank, veterinary liaison; board members, Krish Pallai, Joann Williams, Sherri Cokefair, Alyce Baker and new member Kelly Fisher.
Since its inception in 2011 the group has administered loans to 198 pets totaling over $121,000. HELP for Pets is a 501c3 and is funded completely by donations and loan repayments. It was founded to fill a vital need to provide interest free loans to pet owners of Clinton County who have exhausted all other financial means to allow for urgent treatment of their pets, thus alleviating unnecessary euthanasia.
