Wayne Township Recreation Committee shares information for upcoming events
McELHATTAN — Members of the Wayne Township Recreation Committee have shared information regarding the opening of its ice rink and a plethora of upcoming events:
WINTER ICE SKATING PARTY
The recreation committee has rescheduled their Winter Skating Party to Saturday, Jan. 25, from 2-4 p.m. at the ice rink on McKinney Road. There has been increased activity on the ice this year and the township thanks Arnold and John, township employees, for their efforts to monitor the conditions of the ice and maintain the finish. Several local businesses have donated refreshments for the party so stop for a slice of pizza, some kettle corn and a cup of hot chocolate. Please check the Wayne Township Recreation Board Facebook page for the open/closed status of the ice rink which is dependent upon the weather and elements.
EASTER EGG HUNT
The annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Nature Park. There will be plenty of candy and several prizes awarded this year. The Easter Bunny will be at the Holiday House for photos.
VALENTINE’S DAY AT THE PARK
Please stop by the nature park soon to see the transformation to Valentine’s Day!
PLAY BALL
It won’t be long before we will see activity at the ball field. The committee is working with their Little League partners to prepare for the upcoming season.
CAR & CRAFT SHOW
A tentative date for this year’s Car and Craft Show is Sunday, May 18, at McElhattan Park. Stay tuned for finalized plans.
THANK YOU
The recreation committee wishes to thank the Wayne Township Fire Company for their support of our holiday events and to Colleen Wise for donating the beautiful wreath for the Holiday House. We appreciate your generosity.
