Boxes of Hope holds first Pink Warrior Day

PHOTOS PROVIDED

Boxes of Hope, a breast cancer nonprofit organization located in downtown Lock Haven, held its first Pink Warrior Day on Oct. 12, 2024. Pink Warrior Day was an afternoon where breast cancer survivors and warriors were invited for an afternoon of pampering and to let their warrior beauty shine! Nine breast cancer warriors from all across Pennsylvania were treated to having their makeup professionally done, their hair professionally styled and they participated in a professional mini photo shoot. There were pink gowns, props and a pink boxing outfit complete with pink boxing gloves to wear for the photo shoot. Each participant received a gift bag packed full of items to remind them they are beautiful and to pamper themselves at home. There were pink snacks and pink drinks. The ladies spent the afternoon together sharing their stories with each other. Gillian and Courtney from Embellish Salon Studio of downtown Lock Haven did the ladies’ makeup. Amanda and Sue from The Hair Refinery and The Hair Refinery Wig Salon from Mill Hall styled the ladies’ hair and brought wigs for them to borrow. Hannah Vandegrift Photography from Carlisle provided the photo shoot services.

Starting at $3.69/week.
