LOCK HAVEN - Rahiem Fant, 32, of 104 Main St., Mill Hall, waived the right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Clinton County Central District Court on charges he stabbed another person in a confrontation near the Riverside Saloon earlier this year.
Fant remains in the Clinton County Correctional Facility in default of $100,000 bail on the criminal counts of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering.
The victim was Cory Manning, 23, of Richton, Miss., who was seriously injured during the incident, and was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for stab wounds of the arm and abdomen.
Public Defender Rocco Rosamilia is representing the defendant.
According to the court records:
City officers were dispatched to the Lock Haven Hospital at about 2:28 a.m. on May 11, 2013 after a reported stabbing.
The investigating officer interviewed Manning, who said he had been at the Saloon drinking with his friends, and there were two black guys there, one of whom became argumentative.
Manning told police he spoke to a short black man who "had an issue with his friend," and attempted to calm the situation.
When he went outside, Manning said the taller black male, later identified as Rahiem Cardel Fant, told Manning he was a "big wheel" around here.
