STATE COLLEGE Apparently baby boy Houck had designs on being Mount Nittany's first baby of the new year, because Mom came to Mount Nittany Medical Center on New Year's Eve. However, she was sent home, back over the mountain to Hesston, because it just wasn't time yet.
Mom came back to the medical center around 10 a.m. on New Year's Day, and Carson Nash Houck was delivered at 12:58 p.m.
Carson was an early birthday present for Mom Suzanne Houck, who will celebrate her 21st birthday on Thursday. Asked what she thinks about her son sharing his birthday with a holiday, she said, "It's an awesome thing to look forward to every year!"
Suzanne Houck received an early birthday present, baby boy, Carson Nash.
Since the baby's due date was Jan. 10th, the arrival today was especially surprising.
Carson weighed in at 6 pounds, 2 1/2 ounces and was 19 inches long. And when it comes to Suzanne Houck's vibrant red hair, it's like mother like son.
Mount Nittany Health System presented a Welcome New Year's Baby Basket to the new mom and baby with gifts donated by Bon Ton, Heidi Lynne Photography, Anatomy Naturals, Baby Goin' Places, Surface Artist Cooperative, and the Cafe and Gift Shoppe at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
