Dr. Probst's parents still call Lock Haven home. His mother, Carol, was a long-time employee of Lock Haven Hospital.
Dr. Probst holds a degree in biology from Lock Haven University and is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Pinnacle Health Hospitals in Harrisburg and is board certified by American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
Probst served in the United States Air Force and provided primary care for active duty service personnel and their families. Prior to his return to the Lock Haven Community, Probst operated Big Fork Family Practice in Montana.
"We are excited to welcome a talented, high-quality, family physician of Dr. Probst caliber back to the Lock Haven community," said Cindy Segar-Miller, chief executive officer, Lock Haven Hospital. "The addition of Dr. Probst and Haven Family Practice fills a pivotal role in providing a broad spectrum of quality care, right here in the Lock Haven community."
No wait sick child visits
Haven Family Practice will offer parents no-wait sick child visits.
"When your child is sick, it doesn't make sense to make them wait to be seen by a doctor," said Dr. Probst. "We want to offer parents the peace of mind that they can bring their child in and actually have them be seen quickly."
Family practice physicians have to complete a rigorous three-year residency after medical school that focuses on six major areas: pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, psychiatry and neurology, surgery and community medicine. Dr. Probst will also offer outpatient endoscopy/colonoscopy services at Lock Haven Hospital.
