SUNBURY - Weis Quality Twisted Cactus Sherbet recently won the 2010 "What's Your Favorite New Ice Cream Flavor" contest sponsored by Dairy Foods Magazine.
More than 100 dairy professionals participating in this year's annual Ice Cream Technology Conference in St. Petersburg, Fla., selected the winner. Twisted Cactus Sherbet blends the flavors of prickly pear, blood orange and marula fruit. The conference was hosted by the International Dairy Foods Association.
"We proudly accept this award," said Ken Erdman, Weis Ice Cream Plant manager. "This is an award selected by our peers - and ratified by our customers who embraced our Twisted Cactus Sherbet from the moment we introduced it."
