EXPRESS?FILE?PHOTO The Waterville Hotel was known as the Carson Hotel when it was built in 1825 for loggers in the Pine Creek Valley. Some of the lodgers and townspeople are shown here in this 1880’s photograph loaned by Mrs. Paul Glennon. The hotel, remodeled over the years, was the main attraction of the small, quiet town in the Pine Creek Valley of Pennsylvania’s Allegheny Mountains. The hotel offered choice meals and lodging for travelers and vacationers.
