WCSA gears up for this year’s Women in the Outdoors event
Last year’s Women in the Outdoors event at the Wesetern Clinton Sportsman’s Association featured several of the same classes as this year’s program, but some new ones have been added to the schedule. Kayaking will be one of the featured classes, as will fly-tying, handguns, and many others.

HYNER — The fourth annual Women in the Outdoors event will be back at the Western Clinton Sportsman’s Association this year. The program, which will be held all day from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., features all types of classes that are outdoor oriented. WITO is an outreach program of the National Wild Turkey Federation. It is the hopes of the people putting together the event that women will come and learn new outdoor skills and meet other women with the same interests. The program is non-competitive and lots of fun. There are many classes to chose from, and some are low impact. Women ages 14 and up will enjoy this year’s classes, which include: Archery, ATV safety, backpack chef, birdwatching, fishing, fly-tying, herbal pampering, kayaking, crafts, wildflower identification, winemaking, handguns, scuba diving, shotgunning, clay shooting and more. There will also be games, prizes and a silent auction. Bring a couple of extra dollars for those events, as well as Turkey Plinko.
