Small business owners invited to new workshops
LOCK HAVEN — The Small Business Development Center of Lock Haven University offers its well-known workshop “The First Step for Starting a Small Business” tomorrow from 9 a.m. to noon at the SBDC offices, 301 W. Church St. The cost is $20 and pre-registration is requested. But the center has much more in store than the first step. Also this month, it offers some new workshops at its local offices: — “How to Communicate Effectively Using MS Word” from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday. In this hands-on workshop, Paula Bell, a former LHU professor, will instruct participants on how to create form letters, mailing labels and lists using Mail Merge. Each participant will be able to take home an electronic copy of the Word letters, labels, and lists created to put to immediate use. The cost of this workshop is $30. — “The Second Step for Starting a Small Business” from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. The workshop focuses on developing a business plan.
